I was looking at some of the pics on MR's web site and there are a lot of hydraulic hoses in that "center tunnel". Has anyone ever had to replace a blown hose in a hard to reach area? How often do they go?

I have had mine for 5 years now and have never replaced a hose.

Lost 2 steering cylinder hoses in three years and replaced the other two when the second one went on 1845. Not counting the other 38 replaced hoses! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

The center tunnel looks pretty easy to snake stuff through. So does the front area between the operator's station and the FEL arms. I think the hardest part would be in the engine compartment. As far as life of hoses go... lots of factors. Heat buildup, sunlight, solvents, dirt, abrasions, movement, etc.. all contribute to the life of the hose. I have a late 70's International that still has lots of old hoses on it. They were in bad shape when I bought it 15 years ago and are still in bad shape. But none of them ever blew in the many hours I put on it. With that said, if I ever repair the tractor, I will be replacing all the hoses.

Thanks for the replies.
That's good to know that they don't go that often. I've got a place right down the street that makes hoses and fitings.
And I've got a great Authorzied Deutz dealer too. That 1430 is looking better than ever. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have blown a couple of hoses in the engine compartment of my 2445 that took me hours to reconnect. I was on a hill in a clients backyard when it went and since it was one of the main wheel motor hoses, I could not move it up or down the hill. I had to get it fixed right away since it was needed elsewhere and rain was on the way. This made it more difficult since I had to work around a hot engine and hydraulic fluid! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Other than that, I have a steering hose that needs to be replaced and all of my backhoe hoses have been replaced and uptgraded to heavier hose with Kevlar sleeving covering the entire length of them. Little fixes and upgrades can really save you time and money down the road! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

In the commercial use about every two years but only the most stressed once. If you do what Blackwell indicated, select the better hydraulic hose quality, the second time around ... it is just a few $ more and adds a good year of use.

Correct me if I am wrong but i think Power-Trac says every 1000 Hrs.

Preventive maintenance is great, but if it isn't broke, don't fix it.
