How steep can one put up a metal roof?

The coolness and quality of your metal roof depend on the cost of the material you choose. I think you can contact a professional roofer to consult with him about these questions. When I was fixing my house, I asked my friend, who was doing repairs in the apartment himself. But my friend has little to say about the best materials for covering the roof and couldn't tell about the process itself. I think you should find a top Indianapolis roof company for you that you may like. This stuff is easy to find if you're looking for a service that will meet your requirements and attract your attention with excellent reviews on the site.

A steep steel roof has to be worked on just like a steep slate roof, all the work is done off a ladder laying flat on the roof.
Either a rope over the ridge and tied off securely or double laddered with one ladder on each side of the ridge.
Then the ladders are moved sideways as the roof is installed. One big concern is if using a rope that the tie down point is unmovable.
As unbelievable as it may seem there are instances when a tied off ladder anchor has been a moveable vehicle which has been moved during
the job.

Keep in mind metal roofs are a barrier to RF energy.
As is also the aluminumized vapor barrier, good product and easy to install but forget radio reception.
LOL we need to have the radio on the widow ledge to hear the news.

No issue there it is only harder to installed, I am more concern about the gable windows with metal it need to be done properly or it could leak especially with ice build up houses with valleys and gables I do not recommend metal roof but that's just my opinion .... and yes some good ice breaker will be required here id you go with metal.

As OP let me address some issues of this OLD thread.
There were/are only a very few roofers in the area that I and my relatives trusted.
I was a roofer part time in college and a bit later.
Nothing more beautiful on a crisp winter day then Lake Champlain iced over viewed from atop a high University of Vermont building.
The only real qualification to be a roofer is ability to work at height. LOTS of people can't function at heights.
So when I wrote
I was wanting to get a metal roof put on but the roofer I've used in the past (ONLY does metal) said it was too steep for him.
He's pretty good, and has done 2 house roofs and a 40x60 workshop for us, so I dislike trying to find someone else. He recommended shingles, but he doesn't do shingles.
I was privately ranting. I knew that metal could be put up to vertical and had occasion to talk to him another day and he admitted that it was his age was the problem.
In my Mississippi area the picture I posted coincidentally showed the worst snowfall we had suffered in the years since I started going down there in 1978. So snow is not a consideration.
Now I'm looking for input on solar roofs like the
Gaf Decotech

I would go with the Tesla version, as I think it is better engineered. Have a look over at
Tesla Motor Club's energy sub-forum under "Solar roofs", bearing in mind that there are more people whingeing about their issues with Tesla customer service (real; there is next to none), rather than product failures. The downside is that there may not be installers in your area.

That said, I don't have Tesla solar, just their batteries.

All the best,

Peter

The steeper the tin roof the faster the water runs down.
All skylights, dormers etc will need top notch sealing.
Once saw a such steep roof and every protrusion leaked real bad.
Withe a simple 2 sided steep roof, no problem but add dormers, skylights etc and the problems commence.

To work on a steep roof throw a rope over
the roof tie it to the bumper on your truck
and on the other side of house tie rope to
your a** and have some one back up truck
and up you go
