Everyone made fun of the “this is your brain on drugs commercials” yet somehow I’ve seen the similarities all too many times…

I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV, but I agree with you. Take enough drugs, you destroy the part of your brain that controls your desire to do any better. Not only that, but pregnant women, taking drugs, handicap their children. Someone near and dear to me adopted infant twins whose birth mother was a druggie. Their adopted family was a well-to-do family, and attended church regularly. The twins, a boy and a girl, turned out to both become addicts. The boy has destroyed his brain and is a ward of the court; the girl not much better.
