Here is something you might want to consider. Do you want to kill everything, grass and seeds, and sterilize the ground. This might be your best bet. I saw an article a few years ago about a machine that did everything that I mentioned.
It resembled a giant steam machine. Visualize this, a gas fired boiler making steam, and forcing it out of a manifold, 60 inches wide with 300 tiny holes . It ran very close to the ground, about a 1/2 inch.
This machine was used in an orchard to keep the weeds down.
Think about it, no chemicals, no residue. uses water and propane. and a vehicle to pull it . The ultimate tool. could be made any size.
