How to best smooth trails

I use a box blade, rippers attached if I need to dig down. A landscape rake can be used to smooth out the work somewhat but I don't have one and the box blade get's me 80%-90% of where I'd like to be. I angle the blade to cut deeper on one side of a slope with the manual lift arm adjuster (I don't have top & Tilt). Kind of a pain but then I don't try to build the road in one day. I then use the box to bring filler up to the low side/spots. Also adding weight to the box blade helps keep it down and digging vs. popping up when it meet enough resistance.

Although my rear blade and rake do a great job on most of my paths, I have two or three spots where I have some areas with dips on the side of the path for about 10 feet long on some flat land (say 5 to 8 inches lower than what is needed to drain) that collect water in the winter and make a mess.

I tried with the rear blade turned a big angle to cut down drains on the side of the path but the blade does not dig in far enough (it was pretty wet when I tried it). Would it be wise to get a middle buster and straddle the ditch with the tractor and dig them out before I use my rear blade? I don't have one but would buy one if this would help.
