Well, I did come up with a reason to get the adapter. It seems like it would come in handy for lifting any 3pt attachment high enough to load it into a pickup or onto a trailer. I know this could be done with chains, but it would be real easy with a FEL and a 3pt adapter.

Excellent point! I'll have to remember that.

I emailed Bradco asking for the weight of their adapter. They said 210 lbs. I found a place on the web http://www.abcgroff.com/ic/indust.htm that lists the Kasco Switch Hitch SH-400 at 195lbs and the SH-596 at 240lbs.

Spencer, how hard is it to take your Kasco Switch Hitch on and off?
PS: What would you guess the weight of a blank Skid Steer plate is?

Mosey, I leave the Switch-Hitch on one of my implements at all times. Usually I leave it on my boom pole because that it what I have been using it on the most. It is heavy, if I took it off completely I would not leave it standing up for fear that it would fall over on somebody. So because it is always attached to an implement it is not problem to put on or take off the loader. I would guess that the Bobcat quick-tach plate weighs around 20 pounds, certainly no more than 30 pounds.

I store my boom pole by hanging it up. So, to put it on I pick it up off the hook and then hook it up by holding one end with one hand and guiding the pins into the 3pt arms with the other. It sounds like I would not be doing that with the 200 lb adapter on it!
