I probably had over 1200 lbs in the bucket. After I installed the new wheel motor I loaded half of the rocks out of the red bucket into the OEM PT bucket and that was still a good load.
If we can ever get together we will haft to do some trading. A good used wheel motor should be worth a Quick Plate? I'm anxious to here how your new wheel motors perform. What cubit inch are they?
I'm not sure what the small piece is but it slid into the hollow shaft and it looks as if oil pressure flows around it into a small hole that runs form the inside to the outside of the shaft, providing oil pressure to a sliding surface.
1200 pounds, eh? That makes me feel better about lifting 500-600 lbs with my wheels reversed...

I'm putting 23.7 ci wheel motors on it -- still trying to get that doubled power/half speed solution of the possible mod we discussed. I figured that if I'm going to spend this much $$ to go for the biggest ones in the series -- if I need to, I can always put 26x12x12 tires on it and "gear it back up" a little bit...

A used wheel motor for a Stray-made QA plate sounds like a good trade to me. I'm trying to figure out how I can put some of them to use -- I finally found a source for tapered 1" hubs that you can choose the size of pulley to bolt onto them. With that, you can change the effective speed of whatever you're driving by using the different pulley sizes. So, I'm thinking of possibly converting my 46" belt-drive Simplicity tiller to a hydraulic drive for the PT. Still looking for an affordable way to make a post-hole digger using one of them, also, in addition to other things. Maybe even a knuckle-boom mower like yours...

1. Build one large red bucket.

2. Pick out a worthy Job to be done.

3, Get you Dad or someone to do the hard work so you can drive the PT.

That is too funny! When my pops was alive I recall several situtations where we could have taken that same photo. :D

As for your wheel motor, I had my money on you and that big red bucket all the time. Most of the folks had their money on FOURTEEN, but not me! ;)

Just kidding... sorry to hear about it. I was really hoping that it wouldn't happen to anyone. But, you really use the heck out of that thing and are one of the PT test pilots, for sure. Glad you got it going again. :)
