How to change hyd fluid on Farm pro 2425

Where do you let the fluid out at? I know where the fill is, but havent seen the drain. Also, where is the screen you are supposed to clean out? Any pictures would be awesome. This is the last thing I have to change for the break in. I now have 30 hours! It has been worth what I spent so far!

Part #45 in this diagram is the drain plug. The filter (screen) is down that hole in the center of the diagram - the one that's facing up. You must remove the operator's seat to get to it.

I recommend flushing the hydraulic system with kerosene after draining, but before replacing the filter/screen. With the drain plug, vent cap, and filter/screen reinstalled start the tractor and rotate the steering wheel from stop to stop a few times. Raise and lower the TPH a few times. Remove the drain plug, but be advised that you'll likely get more fluid OUT this time, than kerosene poured in. I did mine twice, before changing the filter and buttoning it up for good. I then filled with AW32 (10 weight equivalent) hydraulic fluid. Which reminds me, I just saw a 5 gallon bucket of AW32 over at AutoZone for $17.99 that I need to get.

Doesn't farm pro give you any manuals with their tractors?Nortrac does,,got pictures in it,,etc,,,I even was able to figure out the basic maintance from looking at it,,and that is saying something,,,there is room for improvement on them as well,though. thingy

Sort of. Mostly it is some crap interpeted from the chineese in broken english. for instance, "IT IS EXPRESSLY FORBIDDEN TO RUN ENGINE WITH AIR FILTER NOT ATTACHED. ALL YOUR ENGINE ARE BELONG TO US."

When should you first change HYD fluid? @ 10 hours?

You can change it anytime. but for sure before cold weather comes. We do change it and the front differential oil when we install a loader. The 30wt oil that comes in the hydraulic system is pretty thick, especially when cold. I run the chinese motor oil for break in and the trans oil is not bad for what it does, I'd go 50 hours on it since it is not pumped, just splashed. Just my opinion, everyone has one when it comes to oil.

Thats funny wild man,,,,northerns manuals are in good ole american talk,,,you would think farm pro could do better? QUOTE out of northerns book for 254,,,,"The sump is built into the transmission housing.The dipstick is the red plug located directly behind the tractor seat. The correct level is between the upper and lower marks on the stick when it is screwed in.Be carefull not to loose the sealing washer.To drain fluid,a plug is supplied,it is located on the upper 3- point hitch mounting casting.It is postioned directly under the left post of the casting,it is a 16 mm nut mounted out of the bolt pattern of the casting mount."And than there is even a picture.Might as well order a filter screen,[northern gave me a new one free,cause mine had a dimed sized hole in it],and a make a new gasket,or use some gasket in a tube,,,be carefull taking it out,,mines hole edges are rough,and screen is delicate,,I changed mine after 50- 60 hrs,but you should change it sooner and at least check screen and wash out with kerosene the screen I mean. Use aw30,[plain ole 10 weight hydro fluid],book says it holds 2.38 gallons,probably wont take that much. Now I don't have a loader on mine,,so nothing speical to do,,,but I hear if you got a loader you need to disconnect line from loader and hook up like you don't have loader,,must be so you don't trap air? thingy
