how to charge for tractor work

You might send a message to PaulinSD. He has a part-time business that does bush hogging, empty lot clean-up, light excavation work, etc. He could give you some good guidance. He was very helpful when I sent him a message.

Thanks for all the input guys. I will look at the insurance issue if the work warrents. I have a couple jobs all ready from my add. So we will see how it works out. Of course another friend called and wants a till job. A small garden is all. 20'x50' Asked me how much. I said 25 bucks and she rolled over and said i was crazy. But wants it done as soon as possible. Her hand tiller makes it look like a cat is diggng to take a dump she said and its to much work so can i do it for free...yeah right. I read the one reply to my post about respect in a small offer to pay a friend for a job and i get pissed every time a freind expects you to do it for free because they dont have the need for the equipment. But some how allways need equipment of some sort. go figure. Thanks again lots of insight here to my question. , Larry

Lawnsite is what I was reading at home. Excellent site! Learned quite
a bit from it. I think my job is ok but one never knows. The company
president said the lay offs are done with but if we ain't making money
next quarter I'm sure there will be more blood letting....

I'm just plotting and planning at this point. If I get "selected" then
the truck, tractor and tools have to start paying there way. Or off
they go.

Thanks for the vote of confidence in my price. I didnt think it was to high. My add has allready paid for itself. One job i had tonight was to till a garden for a couple at 5pm. Got there at 4:55 and the neighbor came running out to say she was sorry for the people, but he had a masive heart attack not a !/2 hour ago. I met the people before the job and were real nice folks. It was pretty sad to hear and my prayers are with them i told the neighbor lady. Thanks for the input Tags and others, Larry
