I use auto seat belts shortened and bolted back together to hang the shaft out of the dirt and to shed rain. Super easy to pop the latch on or off when hooking/unhooking. Very UV protected also. I have a few that are really old. Weather beaten, but still work. Each one is kept with each piece of equipment. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. When not on tractor, most pto shafts lay tilted in a position that alows rain to run down male section and enter female section. I recommend attaching a piece of wire or small chain high up on frame to support shaft tilted up so rain runs in opposite direction and can't enter female end. That also keeps coupler out of dirt.
