I had a neighbor who used to pour a pint of gas down each hole and then toss a match in one from a distance. The concussion killed them. He was a brave it not too bright soul.

Take plastic explosives. Form them in the shape of small forest creatures. Place them in the holes - the gophers won't suspect a thing....

This morning on TV I saw a news article that someone is vacuming them out of fields and sending Gophers alive to Japan for pets???
Looked real to me.

!!!!!!!Yes!! (1) Watch the holes for awhile to find out which ones are active. (2) Block off all other holes. (3) Borrow or buy the largest truck mount leaf vacuum made. (4) Drop a gopher bomb down one hole. (5) Stick the vac hose in another hole. (6) Listen for the "thump-thump-thump".
