I know I'm just repeating what has already been said, but it won't matter what QD you remove to flush it out. However, when you are done it will matter which hose is 'in' or 'out'. When running the chipper, you will want to make sure that the safety bar is back toward you when the feed rollers are pulling brush into the chipper. That way should you get snagged on a branch, smacking the safety bar will cause the rollers to reverse.

I ... That way should you get snagged on a branch, smacking the safety bar will cause the rollers to reverse.

That's a good point. The current setup the previous owner has, is to bungee the handle away from the operator so that the infeed rollers are moving as soon the pto kicks in gear.

On a side note, I notice in the flywheel that there is a slot for what I assume would be the twig breaker. But there's no twig breaker in/on the machine (part#6 in the attached pic) I had asked the seller about it, but he wasn't even aware of what the slot was for.

Ports on motors are usually the same because they run both fwd and rev, same pressure.

Thanks for the correction!

I have to ask, did you activate the lever for the remote hyd in order to feed fluid to that valve with the lever , which is a speed control.

Umm, just figured out why there was no flow. Dummy me, forget to engage the rear remotes :confused2:

J_J... looks like we posted at the same time. :)

I believe that other valve is an emergency shut off. Make sure the emergency shut off is disengaged.

Ok, got it to work. I bled out what looks like 3, maybe 4 quarts. The fluid coming out looked ok at 3 so I gave it another for good measure.

I checked the bubble on the rear axel and there's no sign of a drop. That's my next to-do. Prior to hooking up the chipper I got the tractor on level ground and checked the bubble. But I can't tell if its too full or too low. I remember seeing what it looked like at delivery.

Anyway, ran a couple sticks through. Running ok.

One thing to note. If you looked at the video, I had the hyd line running from the lower rear remote to the cylinder that controls the feeder on my attempt to get things to work. That didn't work, so moved that line to the upper rear remote. Works ok now. So at least for this tractor, the lines are not interchangable.
