New here; looking to buy my first tractor. I've owned a 1-series lawn tractor for over 10 years and it's been good to us even as an entry-level residential mower so after looking at orange and green, and all the specs, I chose to stick with green. We now own 3 acres of sloping property but about half of it is wooded and unmaintained and we plan to leave it that way. The 1025R seems like the best all-around fit for our needs (mowing, loader work and maintaining the land with a box blade) so we went by our local dealer to talk about it further and have them put together a quote.
JOHN DEERE 1025R Sub-Compact Utility Tractor (18 PTO hp) : $16495.00
JOHN DEERE 60D AutoConnectTM Mower: $3000.00
Frontier BB2048L Box Blade: $900.00
Total (less box blade) = $19495
I've read on multiple forums and don't understand how others are getting better deals, including this post from just a week ago which was $1500 less on the tractor alone :

I also know that price isn't everything and building a relationship with a local dealer is important; makes sense and I'm willing to give some on price for that relationship. But it's tough to commit to a 15-18% higher price on the tractor just for dealer loyalty. My dealer quoted me near-list prices, the same found on the John Deere website.
Appreciate any help or guidance you can give for this soon-to-be new owner. If I can save a grand or two then I can reallocate that toward other needs like a quick hitch, bolt-on hooks, toothbar, etc.

I Know I Know, BUT gimme a Break I'm New
Here is the deal 2021 JD 1025r with 54d mower and 120r loader. Quote = $16,497 Free delivery to my door + tax and misc. Good, fair or RUN??? I won't get into the brand battle. I am thinking add on a ballast box and the I-match. Better yet have them throw in 1 of those and I buy the other, which...

- Is that normal?
- Am I making a bigger deal out of this than I should be? I always have a hard time just paying what's on the sticker.
