how to get Boomer to dealer for warranty work

Sure makes me appreciate my dealer. I have not needed any sevice or warrenty work yet, but he offered to drive back to my house to show me how to use one of the implements that I bought with the tractor. (And I am 37 miles away from the dealership and he does NOT live in my direction.)

Actually, my dealer has been really good up until this. He came and got the tractor and did the 50 hr maintenance and brought it back at no charge. I was not even charged for the filters and oil. I've heard other people on this forum talk about having to do it themselves. Someday I want to buy a loader, so I may try to work that angle with him. There is a NH dealer in Indy, which is only about 60 miles. I've still got time to find a trailer to borrow though, since the 2yr warranty isn't up until the end of April.

I have had a towing company bring my IH2500B from my property to my house or vice versa several times and to and from the repair shop when needed. It is about 12 miles and 15 miles respectively. The tractor weighs about 8000lbs and they loaded it on one of those tilt flat bed trucks. They only charge 35-40 bucks and I didn't have to drive it on some very busy roads. Guess it depends on the traffic in your area if you feel comfortable on the road for 3 hours total time.

Danny, If you're referring to Speedway NH in Indy, they are decent to deal with. I bought my TC33D there last May. I had a problem with a hydraulic line breaking; they came out to my house to fix it; I'm about 35 miles from them. Where are you located?

wait for a good snow fall and plow as many peoples' drives as you can on the way there and back.

cgranat, I’m not sure of the name. I’ve seen them while driving east on I-465 after exiting from I-65. When I get serious about buying a loader I’ll definitely check their prices. I live about 15 miles SW of Columbus.

Steve, That’s a good idea! I could probably make some money plowing driveways and pulling people out of the ditch! Problem is, it doesn’t usually snow much around here.

Mosey AKA Danny Y (I finally registered. You can call me Mosey because I'm never in a hurry).

DannY:
Don't worry about driving you tractor 20 miles. (As long as it is safe to drive the distance). The tire wear will never be noticed. I drove tractors all the time 15 miles back and forth between farms when I was younger. It is much cheaper to drive your tractor 20 miles rather than have your trailer break from being over loaded or rather than paying someone. My brother just took his 180hp Case-IH in for warranty work and drove 15 miles. We don't even worry about the tire wear.
