How to get this %$#&% stump out???

Like others have said - cut it as low as you can, toss/sharpen the saw chain/blade after. No need to dig it out...

I know you said it's dead, but coat the remaining stump with Tordon/similar. Then bury it and forget about it.

I had a bunch of fairly big trees around (like RIGHT AT) the pole barn walls, when I bought the place. I just cut them at ground level and left 'em to rot (4 years later - they're still there and solid...).

Just go up to it and tell it you are going to split it with a maul and it will be petrified by the time you get back from the tool shed.

I had cut down and slowly killed the roots of some small arborvitae that someone had planted in front of the windows here (I didn't have the tractor then). I have since noticed little sinkholes where they were. As someone mentioned above, this could be a problem for the shed.
Personally, I would leave it, cover it back up, and just prune any growth that comes back.

I've pulled incredibly heavy things with that 4x4 truck. It wouldn't move 1/4". Must be all those roots growing under shed concrete floor.

Problem solved!
My friend & neighbor is an excavator and I could see him putting equipment away. He said no problem and drove one smaller excavator over. It just took a few minutes and he said he digs out much bigger stumps but whatever this is was tough!
I hand dug smaller roots out, hauled everything off and filled & packed dirt back in with my tractor.
