I don't see an attachment but I'd be interested in how you did this. I've always managed to get the ratchet strap approach to work. Your tire must have really had the beads pinched in. I probably would have tried putting blocks between the beads overnight to stretch it.
That's what I have done for mounting tires on wide rims and it has always worked very well for me. I can see how Redneck's method would have advantages over that if you had to have the tire mounted immediately.

I think they changed the propellant in WD 40 to non-flammable.

I like the pot, blower, and compressor idea. Send it to "Farm Show"

Whatever works for you. I mount a ton of tires and have never had one that didn't seal. I have small chain wench that looks like a come along, but rarely do I need it. I'd avoid any ideas using flammables. As someone mentioned $5 to take it to a tire shop is a whole lot less painful than a trip to the ER.

On two different occasions I have changed out mower turf tires for ag lugs and couldn't get them to seat, even with a strap.

My local tire shop bailed me out both times, and didn't charge me anything. I think they even refused payment so that they wouldn't be held liable for tires they didn't sell. One of the guys told me their trick was simply the combination of a big tank on the shop compressor, and a clip-on tire chuck that would work without the core in the stem. Pop the tire, pop the core back in, inflate to rated pressure. Took about as long for them to do as it takes me to say.

While I don't have the big compressor, I did pick up a clip-on chuck to experiment with. I'd also be interested in making one of those bead seater tanks with the big dump valve that hooks on the rim and blows in the gap. But I'm also willing to bet this little trick would work about as well. Definitely have to keep it in mind.

I bought some lug type tires to go on my mower that were exact same size replacement tires and even the tire shop couldn't get them to seat, they were just too stiff to compress with a strap. I ended up returning the tires and ordering some from a golf cart supply that came with rims for less than I had paid for the tires.

I have had luck using small bike tubes to fill the space... Find one that is a good fit, soap it up, and try blowing up the tire... Once the tire gets to the bead area, it should force out the smaller bike tube..

I make a sock from a rolled up towel in a garbage bag, that fills the gap, I put some RTV silicone on the other side bead, so when it pops on, I let it set up. then take and set the tire on a couple 4x4's and just push the center of the rim down, and hit it with air..

I've sometimes had luck by setting the tire flat on the floor, valve side up, (core out, locking air chuck ) and putting a garbage can lid on top. Then hit the air valve. Always use a sealer on the rim as well
