I am changing the tires and rims on my L3010 and I don't have a jack appropriate to lift
rear to do that. What would it take to lift the rear to change tires?

if i was you id call a mobile tire service that specializes in changing rear tractor tires an have them change the tires for you.that would be alot safer an quicker.

buy a bottle jack

buy a bottle jack

I concur ...you will need the bottle jack sooner or later if you keep the tractor.

Just be careful you can hurt yourself if you are jacking up heavy pieces of equipment.

How Big? Its a Grand L 3010 with fluid in rear tires. I can lift the front wheels off with bucket and have done that before when I had a flat.

the whole tractor is about one and a half tons with FEL and loaded tires.

personally I would get a 5 or 10 ton jack (a lighter jack is harder to pump when they are near their rated load)

just make sure you lift on the correct part of the tractor or can damage the tractor. (I have seen those road side tire repair people bend axles on highway trucks ..more then once)

And where is the correct part of the tractor to place jack for rear lift?

I jack mine up by placing a 4"x6" on top of a floor jack and put the 4"x6" on the axle housing next to where the axle goes enters the housing. I only jack one side at at a time. My tractor weighs about 40% less than yours.

I do have a 10 ton bottle jack I can use. My floor jack is a cheap Costco unit I don't trust for this.

That would work. I would recommend the wood between the jack and the jacking surface. Be careful!

do not try to lift both wheels at the same time.

..near the wheel ...(I went and looked at my L3430 and would put the jack under the bracket that holds the 3 point hitch arm, there isn't much room and it is a thin so you need to be centered and careful that it will not slip off).

don't jack it too high, it is easier to handle if it just clears the ground and have a secondary means of support so it cannot slip or fall over, the bottle jack alone isn't sufficient for safety. (like cribbing of 4X4 blocks of wood under a part that will support the weight)

If I were to put it on the square of the axle I would put a block of wood (that would not split or shatter) to spread the weight.

there are a lot of what if's and that is why people don't say jack here with this and you will be ok. ...it is like trying to write common sense procedures, leave out one step or not put all the other possible scenarios in and some one gets hurt and sues you.

Thanks for all the advice. Fortunately I am doing this on a slab and not in the field, in the mud.

If you can weld, make 2 T shape post then turn the top down. Get 2 U shape about 2 or 3" long weld on top. The T well be 2 or 3" taller then your loader frame and welded to the other upside down T . The 2 T's should be hooked together at the bottom. It is the same width as your loader frame with kickers holding the upside down stright.
Then with the loader, lift the front up high, slide the frame work you just made under the loader frame, let the front down until the rears come off the ground. Now you should have all 4 tires of the ground. No Jack and safe.
