century 2535
i put a 3pt wood chipper on my century 2535 and unless i keep the lift lever in the up position it drops. i tried putting the chipper all the way up and then closing the speed adjustment to keep it up and putting the lever into the down position to relieve the pump pressure like it says in the manual for traveling on the road with an implement, but it still drops. when left in the up position it bumps up every 15 seconds, is this normal or is there something wrong with the tractor it only has 15 hours on it.

thanks,
Doug

Doug, have you tried working the 3pt hitch up and down several times, over and over. Could it possibly have an air pocket that needs to be worked out? I say this as I had a similar experience... I just kept raising and lowering the hitch and it worked itself out.

Oh , also see you have a BH....so do I . I noticed mine doing this with a rear blade after I had taken my BH off and reconnected the hydraulic lines. It would start falling then bump up....then start the cycle again. I bet you did the same thing I did....just work it up and down until you get it worked out.

The O rings are goberd up on the lift cylinder. The Hydraulic fluid is bleeding by the o rings on the lift cylinder, causing this "hickup". Its a cheep fix ($), covered by your warrenty.
Sometimes this o ring failure will be caused by the failure to let the machine "warm up" on a severe cold start situation.
In the five years of selling Branson (200 machines sold), I have had 3 machines come from the factory that needed the o rings replaced.

Virgil got it right. The same thing is wrong with mine, but I noticed it with my post hole digger. Simple fix for the dealer.

i raised and lowered the lift about 7 or 8 times and now the problem is gone, no more dropping. maybe it was just an air pocket from disconnecting the bh.
