How to load a grease gun ?

why not spend the 30 bucks on a lincoln grease gun and never have to buy another. i wouldnt waste my money on a harbor freight one. )</font>


I've been using my HF pnuematic for three years and it works great.

I've been considering buying a bulk unit cause I'm always changing tubes. Between the tractor, loader, BH and vehicles it goes FAST!

Grease every 8 hours of use on the loader....BAH! After 3 or 4 hours it starts to squeek and thats using an EP synthetic.

</font><font color="blue" class="small">( It took me a long time to realize that when you pull that long spring loaded plunger back that it can be latched open. My method was to use my feet to hold the plunger out and do the reloading real quick before the plunger would slip . )</font>

</font><font color="blue" class="small">( If it's new and tight, sometimes they can be hard to push on, or to pull off. Try loosening that coupler; i.e., unscrew the end of it a bit and it should go on easily. )</font>

I bought a new flex hose to get at that recessed zerk, a couple of squirts later I realized that my fingers could not grab the head, so just a little pull on the hose.... The next half hour was spent figuring out how to get the zerk's new hat out of there..... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

brings back great memories of my grandads 5 gal grease bucket, a spoon, a straw, and a grease covered youngin.(me)

when I got older I asked him why he didnt use the grease in the cartridge. he smiled and said it was too much fun watching me get more on me then I did in the gun.

when I got even a little older he laughed again when I asked why he had 2 grease guns? Different types of grease maybe?
No he says ones had tubes in it for when you were not around to fill the other one........ Thanks for making me think of this I just bought a pnumatic grease gun today and will think of granddaddy when I load it this evening.
