how to put key "H" back on daughter's laptop?

I bought my daughter a HP notebook since she just started college.Lastnight the H key came off i did not force it since i did not know what i was doing.Just the plastic came off and you can see 4 little snaps on the back side of the key.How do i put it back on?

Usually they just snap onto the stem. Try pushing until you hear a click. Odd that it came off though, maybe the snap-fit tabs are not formed right?

They don't usually come off unless they are pried off. If it wasn't pried off, the key cap or the stem may be defective. If it is still under warranty, I would considering having it repaired by HP or an authorized warranty service shop.

You might also want to Google that particular model to see if it has keyboard issues.

Dog jumped up on my lap one day while using my HP notebook. Ripped 2 keys off. Played with it a couple of years until hard drive started to go. Did a search for parts on EBay. Found a new HD and keyboard for about $60 with shipping. Installed the parts in a few minutes. These parts are cheap. Unless the notebook is under warranty. Get the parts and fix it yourself. I did a search on Google for a repair manual. Found a complete service manual that shows how to take every screw, clip and other parts off computer.
