The ripper cylinder that I'm trying to replace has a part number of
S2.5x4-10.25 CYLINDER

I'm trying to look for a similar cylinder but I can't figure the specs.

From the surpluscenter.com the cylinder specs are in the following format:
Double Acting
Bore x Stroke 2" x 4"
Pressure 3500 PSI max.
Rod Dia. 1-1/8"
Ports SAE 8
Retracted Length 14-1/4"
Shpg. 17 lbs.

My original part number contains three numbers but I'm at a lost of what those number mean. I'm guessing it has to pertain to bore, stroke, rod diameter, and/or retracted length.

help...

Why not just measure the cylinder you have?

But if I had to guess, I would answer this way:

2.5" bore
4" stroke
10.25" retracted length.
No clue as to the rod diameter.

They use the same cylinder on this box scraper. Maybe you can contact them and see if you can obtain parts , or replacement.

SCARIFIER CYLINDER
The cylinder has two spring loaded internal check ball valves. These valves are set at 800 P.S.I. to prevent
damage to the cylinder when operating. You should hear a "squeaking" noise when extending or retracting the
valve. This tells you the cylinder is by passing properly. If you notice the scarifier beam is "drifting" down when
the beam is raised, it usually means that there is some foreign material in the cylinder which is preventing the
spring loaded ball from "seating" properly. Take the cylinder to your dealer

Thanks for the info.
A dealer I called wanted $290 plus tax and shipping so I'm trying to see if I can find something from SurplusCenter.com that is cheaper and will do the job just fine.

You do realize that their cylinder has two 800 psi check valves internally to prevent cylinder damage. You could probably use something similar, but may put more stress on the box blade setup. I would assume that you could put external reliefs across the cylinder to so something similar.
