How to remove rear tire?

Hey Richard, me and a bud pulled his wheel off his tractor, brought it in to the co-op, and they all looked at us as if we were the biggest idiots out there.

Actually easier to handle on the tractor at some point, service truck calls are about $50 here, plus the repair.

It worked out ok on his though, we had to fix (weld holes, sandblast and paint) his rim before it would work anyway.

Good luck, they are heavy, careful that it does not "start" to fall, as once it get's going, there is not much stopping it.

I called the co-op this morning & they're coming out tuesday morning/afternoon to do the deed.

Get this...

The tractor with the flat rear tire is an International 886. My brother in law bought a 986 (with cab) at an auction and brought it to the farm yesterday.

We're going to run both tractors with the same mower for while & see which one we prefer to keep & sell the other.

So, the 886 is sitting with a rear tire. I took my turn on the 986 (with the a/c running ) around a field...

What happens but I spear a stick about the size of your pinky finger and now this tractor has a FRONT tire.

Sigh...

I can't win for losing lol.

Bro in law is fixing the front tire today, we removed it yesterday. The co-op is fixing the other tractor/big tire tomorrow.

I do want to imagine you in a A/C cab wondering if you should keep that one or not.... that should be a pretty short decision, or wasn't it hot and muggy?

Good luck, they are heavy, careful that it does not "start" to fall, as once it get's going, there is not much stopping it.

Same thing at our Co-op, with tires that size the guys do the repair with the wheel on the tractor, and they have all the equipment to take it off and handle it in the shop. Rarely a fender or such might keep them from taking the tire completely off, but not often. If it's just a simple patch job, they remove the outer bead, block it out from the rim and repair it right there. Our Co-op doesn't have a service truck but it's been asked for many times.
