How to remove stuck roll pin in tooth bar???

I second the grinding off one end of the pin before trying again, the taper is not helping, and grinding it flush will keep it from flaring again. Combine that with some solvent, lube, some heat and an appropriately sized punch and you should have success.

First thing is if you have flared the end of pin it's never going to come out....

Grind pin flush with surface and use proper diameter punch...

Have never seen punches with the center like these. Who sells those? With right drill bit, not high speed steel maybe cobalt. Might need to drill in steps. I also believe the grinding flush and proper center punch will work.

Amazon, eBay, most likely your local tool trucks.
Search for roll pin punch and you will find many of them.

I third the grind/heat with oxy/acy., add more solvent then more heat to draw it in then punch should get the remains out. As for drill bits, I did buy a bit one time to drill hardened steel and the sucker really did work. ---I drilled a roll pin about the size you are trying to get out. ---Make sure the bit says "for drilling hardened steel"! they are expensive so thats why they are hard to find!

What's wrong with that tooth. Still looks to be in pretty good shape. Otherwise - hit the pin/tooth with a torch. I'd use a hand propane torch. It just might break the rust loose. Something about that pic just doesn't look right. I guess it's that I've never seen a tooth retaining pin that far forward on a removable tooth. Must be one heck of a base tooth underneath.

Thanks. I will try more heat tomorrow. I put a little hand torch on it today, but the canister was pretty weak. I'll try a fresh one.
@oosik - The actual tooth is missing. The pin sheared and it was lost. The part you are seeing goes inside the replacement tooth and holds it.

Thanks everyone for the input. I'll grind it flush and get the proper punch.
@Oosik here' the actual replacment tooth. Ignore the bolt, it will get a roll pin, but you get the idea.

Like he said there is not room between teeth to get a hammer and punch in a straight line. You need a short punch and a hydraulic ram (Porta-Power) to punch straight. The pins are hollow so get all the rust and dirt out of the inside first. That will allow the rust busting process work better. Take a cutting torch with 00 tip and burn part of it out from the inside after you can see through it. That will let it shrink some when punching. A little slice in the existing won't hurt anything. Just clean the hole out to clean metal before installing the new one.
