How to remove X730 PTO switch?

My neighbor has an X730 with a bad PTO switch. How do you get behind to disconnect it?

Does the user manual have any info ?

Lift hood, and then squeeze the tabs together for the switch to slide out. Push it back in to lock in place. Can see the tabs on the switch in this schematic.

Thanks. I can't see the back of the switch. Looks like I have to take off the whole instrument panel shroud to get at it.

Thanks, but nothing in the manuals I have. Looks like I can download a maintenance book for $40 or so. I will probably just try removing 4 screws and hoping that works.

If your sure that the switch is bad, just start taking it apart, you know, destroy it and then after connecting the harness connector to the back of the new switch, just plug the new one into the hole.

Just to close this out:

After waiting for the part to arrive, I was able to take enough of the dash apart to at least see the back of the switch. I was able to disconnect the harness and connect the new switch, albeit hanging outside the dash. Unfortunately, no change - the pto wouldn't engage and the tractor would start with the switch engaged. So, it isn't the switch. I did find a diode in the fuse block, and changed that, too, with no effect.

In the end, my neighbor is discussing options with the dealer.
