Henro told me what you did for a living when I was visiting him this summer.

I like your floor tripods. We use something ver similar for setting heavy machine tools. Of course they are MUCH more heavy duty, but the principal is the same.

Pete, I don't own a Taco Bell but I sure do spend enough time in them. I have been installing commercial food service equipment for over 14 years now. I have done other fast food places as well as hotels, colleges, hospitals, etc. Taco Bell has always been the majority of my work.

I like your truck to. Ramp trucks, and recovery equipment in general, have always been fun for me to drool over.
Tell us a little more about your tripod dollies and where similar dollies can be purchased. I can sure see where those little 3 wheeled beauties could come in handy. )

Mark, the truck is not mine, I just rented their services for $50. Those tripod dollies sure are nice. I have to be very careful about them on the jobsites. Everyone likes them a little too much. They are made in Pennsylvania by a company called Bond Manufacturing (I think). My van is pretty full right now and they are not in an easy place to access. If I get a chance I will try to pull one out to take some better pictures. The tripods have the manufacturers name and location on the bottom of them. I know when I bought mine I just called information for the town in PA where they were located and got their number. The manufacturer sent me out eight of them COD for around $60 a piece (if I remember right). That was way back in the late eighties so they are probably more money now. I did a quick internet search and came up empty. Once I pull them out and get their location in PA I will be able to give you more info. I was thinking it was a town called "Anheim" or "Anaheim" but I don't see that on my mapping software.

We never got quite that creative, but we used to receive shipments of stainless steel bbq grills, one with a refractory brick lining that weighed over 400 pounds. It wasn't frequent enough to justify a fork lift, so we would back the pickup truck up to the semi, slide the crate onto the pickup bed, then pull away and slide it onto the ground. Having an intermediate step helps a lot!
