How to weld copper?

/ How to weld copper? #31
I would solder with lead free solder inasmuch as it is decorative only and is not subject to pressure stress (copper plumbing or HVAC lines). While I am no professional, I have soldered plenty of copper plumbing with acid core. If you manage the heat properly, the solder all but disappears into the joint. I have also used solder paste for solder joints. Either wire solder or paste solder works well and leaves little visible excess solder at the joint interface. I once soldered a leaking copper HVAC line on my motorhome roof mounted A/C unit (R22). It never leaked thereafter. Unless the job is electrical (completely different animal), I have always used a propane torch. They provide more than adequate heat.
