Try to use the stumps for something useful and they will rot way faster.

Need to clear all 6 for the house and pasture.

I can do the mini ex thing, but then I have to do something with the trees. I dont want large piles of brush sitting around my property.

You need to go talk with the fire Marshall, he will give you some ideas, like burn small amounts on drizzly days, in a hole, trench burner etc.

I would want the stumps gone.

Do one or two acres a year, I would hire the work out by the acre, when they leave you can plant grass, $1700 to $2000 a acre should get it done, I live in eastern VA and that is what I paid between 2003 and 2014, the last two acres was done entirely with a Cat 319 excavator including the leveling. Time it so they are done for fall planting.

Bring in about 300 goats, it'll be plain dirt (an poop) in a few weeks.

Let's get real about this. How much do you want to spend?

As I stated earlier, I am a notorious cheapskate. I spend as little as possible to get the job done. If you need it done RIGHT NOW then hire somebody with a dozer and excavator and have at it. But it will cost you. If you want to go the opposite, cheap, way do as I said above. Bushhog it, cut the larger trees down with the stumps at ground level, keep it mowed, and let the stumps and trunks rot for a few years. Six acres is not a lot to clear. But, it will take time and effort to do it yourself. If you don't have the time then hire it done.

If it were me I would clear enough to build my house and work on the other as time allowed.

But I am cheap.

Not to be rude here fellas, but I've said several times that I *must* have ALL 6 acres clear to get our horses on the pasture. It also must be pasture, not stumps or holes that the horses can step in.

Basically its being boiled down to mulching it, or clearing it and hauling off the debris. I dont really care to have giant piles of brush on my property to "rot" in a few years.

I was hoping for maybe an outside the box idea, but most of the ideas wont work on this property or my timeline. This would all be solved if I could burn, but as I said earlier, my county has a regulation against burning within 1000ft of a structure, and nearly the whole property is within that distance.

Your constraints put you in the identical situation as most "commercial" development of forested, unimproved land. So do what the commercial developers are forced to do.

A few years ago I had a similar need, but only for about 2 acres. Got a local guy who brought a D5 bucket loader. In about 2 hours he had the trees down and the land cleared and level. Cost me a few hundred dollars. My trees were hardwood, so I had them stacked and got several friends to cut them up and haul the wood for firewood. The stumps ended up in a big mound and are currently rotting away. With the pines, burn or have them hauled away. You might also find one of those guys with a portable saw mill to come in and saw slab boards you could use for fencing or a corn crib or other projects.

I would guess a guy could easily clear the land in 2 days with time left over. Disposal/use is your biggest issue. You could stack them in a corner and worry about it later as well.

Well if you didn't go for my thermonuclear idea then I guess you're down to the Masticator, Forest Mower (whatever ya wanna call it) on a track loader and grinding it all right into the ground. The thing is to get on it before it gets too dry to run the thing. They do make a lot of dust if it's not damp. Looking at the pics it looks like a masticator would just chew all of it right down into the ground. It took two days for two of them to do my five acres but they were being selective while you're doing all of it and don't have any big trees to worry about just small stuff.

I'm with RSKY, but I keep hearing the OP say horses. Therefore you need to spend as much money as you can at the project.

6 acres and cant burn is pretty over the top restrictive. Is that year round or certain seasons? We can burn in towns here with a permit, definitely on 6 acres.
You said "nearly the whole" is within the limit, I'd find that one area that isn't, or get close enough.
