I have a older Howard that I rebuilt, does anyone know if I can run it without the depth wheel. It will be in the road for backing up. Thanks

You could maybe run it by controlling the depth using position control. But I'm by no means an expert on this. Post a pic or two. I'm sure some knowledgeable folks will chime in soon.

Why yes you can! For garden/field tilling I never use the gauge(depth) wheels on my Howard tiller. They do come in handy when trying to do precise level tilling like a lawn. Howard tillers have a good rep for being tough and dependable, mine sure as been.

Thanks for the info, I just got my Howard going. I'm really impressed. I got it for $75.00 at a sale and the only thing wrong was the door and PTO shaft. Works great now.
