There is a lady on here,AKA (Bindian) that has a 6520 with a backhoe and she only has 5 acres. I think that a lot depends on what all you need to do and how much time that you have to do it in.

I think I might go with the 2516 gear with the shuttle shift. I got a price today from a dealer for $12,591 out the door. I thought that was a good price. The next best price I got was $12,992 OTD. Both prices with loader. Unless I change my mind, I am going with the 2516. I don't have any trees to push over, Katrina took care of that. I just want a little tractor to tinker around with.

THink about your current and future needs. How much grass? How much weeds? Scraping? Planting? Do you need 4wd? Do you need the small 4wd versus the larger 2wd 3525 series? You can get more tractor for your money with the larger 2wd. WHat are your ground conditions? Are you moving dirt? Will a FEL just be a wheel barrow or do you have serious dirt digging?
What does "tinkering mean"?
10 to 12 k is alot of money.

I have almost 3 acres and I have a 3316 gear. It is a lot of tractor, but I was zeroing in on a 2816 and, honestly, the 3316 looked a bit smaller. I like it because it does a good job on round bales (on the 3pt).

I bought the 2516 gear with loader. My property consist of about an acre and a half of yard. Honestly, I probably could have just hired out the work I needed done, but I am a DIYer and just really "wanted" a small tractor to work around the house with. This little tractor will take a load off of the wife and I as a motorized wheel barrow, unloader, dirt mover. I think a larger tractor would be inconvenient for the size of the property.
I plan on putting in a pool, building a combination 2 car garage/pool house, so it will be used a lot for building and landscaping around the place.
I have used it to unload brick from a trailer, a new box blade from a trailer and move brick to the front yard to build a walk way.
It was a lot of money,$12.6K OTD, but heck, I am 55, everything is paid for, including the new tractor. I am tickled with my new toy and plan on using it for a multitude of things.

Hello all,

I purchased a 2216 in the fall, and it has been a pleasure to own and operate. I have the FEL and 3 pt finish mower and it mows 4 acres easily. It does operate a 5' bush hog also, I can see where the 2516 could be better there.

I look forward to reading the forum.
