Howse heavy duty mower

I have owned a 5ft Howse for 13 years, the mower deck has plenty of dents and dings but the blades and gear box still do the job. Have hit countless stumps. Have learned to keep the mower high,avoid lots of setbacks.

I've owned a Howse 5 foot/100hp gearbox forever. It has had the tar beat out of it. Never been inside, greased a couple of times, checked the gear oil once, and put the blades thru the deck. Still works like new.

Thanks everybody, It sounds like a consensus on the reliability of the gear boxes and I'm going to get the 6100C which is their HD modle and is 3/16 inch. that is better than some of the name brand models and definately better in this price range so hopefully that will address the concerns you have with potential damage to the frame. Only issue I see I might have is the availability of parts dpown the road but they've been around awhile so I think I'll take a chance.
