I want to put power steering on my 2210 with a Bulldog 285 loader. I am ready to purchase the kit, but seeing Scotty Dive and JTullius' posts where they utilized the power beyond port on their loader valves, I find myself stumped with regards to my (viable) options. I don't know if my loader valve is capable of power beyond and really don't know how to tell. I expect that it is a no name, whatever was available in China at the time valve. If I don't have the capability, just how bad is the loader (and power steering) operation? Safe to purchase the kit and try to work things out, or is it money not well spent?

Thanks all!
Kim

Is there a standard set of markings for the loader valves? I notice that your power beyond comes out of the outlet marked with a "T"...which I think I have on my valve. If so, I may still be in the hunt and need to lean on the forum for some hydraulic education. I don't know if I have that 3/8" NPT fitting below the hydraulic fluid filler plug...was that there or did you drill and tap for the fitting? I really appreciate ALL of the forum members for helping one another out...I have read post after post on varying topics where members go out of their way to help others, and it warms the heart! Thanks again!

Oops, maybe I saw it wrong, but from what I can read elsewhere, "T" means "tank" as in return...and "PB" means power beyond. Do all loader valves (Asian) have these markings, or is it possible that I still have the potential for power beyond even if there is a port that isn't marked "PB"?

The opening was already there. If you have 7 openings you likely have that option. Is your loader black? If so, likely came from LCI and likely same valve I had. Any pictures?

Actually, the loader is red. It's labelled as a "Bulldog 285" and looks like the others I have seen photos of, both red and black. The valve has no brand markings on it. There is a "P" at one end of the block (pressure) and an arrow pointing to a "T" at the other end of the block (Tank). There is also a little "doohickey" that comes out at the pressure end below the joystick. Photos attached.

I can't be sure but looks like the same valve I had. The "doohickey" is the relief valve. I do think the red loader is a little later model. You can see from this picture the loader mount is different than yours.

Pretty tractor! I guess I didn't realize that your tractor had a Bulldog 285 also. I see that your valve bracket either had a hole in the top or you drilled one for the power beyond line. Your valve does look like mine and I would assume they are the same...the mounting holes are identical. If you don't mind my picking your brain...how did you make the adapter again for the power beyond hookup and how did you plumb your power steering?

I am getting encouraged about the viability of adding power steering again.

Many thanks and have a great weekend!

My 2002D had steering box power steering. It was factory. It was plumbed going from hydraulic pump through a diverter valve which allotted some to the power steering and the rest initially went to the 3 point. when the loader was added the rest then went through the loader valve and then on to the 3 point.

See page 1 of the thread I attached showing how I made the plug. When you click on the thread it comes up on page 2.

A picture of the factory diverter valve and a picture of the factory power steering gearbox.
