Hello,
Looking at a Tye 104-4474 no till drill. It's 10 feet wide. Wondering what's the min HP needed to pull? Any opinions on this implement? Have a 45hp Kubota 4x4

Iowa State University has some good information on matching implement size to tractor horsepower. Go to Ag Decision Maker: An agricultural economics and business web site and search for File A3-26 and File A3-28. I ran quick numbers and you might be able to handle it, but probably won't be going very fast. You may want to set up a spreadsheet to do the calculations because of the number of variables involved.

The Iowa State University web site has a lot of good information available.

Flat ground or hills is another thing to think about. If flat yes you should be able to handle it, if hills are involved make sure you have enough space at the bottom in case you become a runaway as it could push you down the hill, going up hill you may have to lift it slightly if traction becomes an issue. For what its worth my dad rented a 10' no till a few years ago and did a horse pasture that was nothing but a hill and another hayfield that was a few rolling hills and mild grade, not flat by any means but flat compared to the rest of the surrounding area. He did this all with an Allis Chalmers D14, approx 4000 lbs 35 hp 2wd.
