Seeing skip post up about his XUV problems I figured it was time I make a formal request for help on my problems.
I have an 06 HPX which has started to have a huge power loss. It's most certainly not the engine is somewhere around the clutch/belt system. The backstory on it all is one day I landed on a tree stump (darn beavers), the stump went through the splash guard and aparently hit my primary clutch cover. Now it sounds/feels as if the belt is slipping (I have experience with this when my pully was falling apart) but I replaced the belt and the pully is fine so I can't figure out what it is.
I don't have a lot of knowledge on the CVT transmissions but I also happened to notice that my primary clutch cover has the end of it curled up so there's maybe a 1/4" gap running around there. Could I be I just need a new cover and that is somehow messing with my clutch ? Could the fact that there is almost certainly dirt in there cause it to 'slip' ? Oh one more thing it doesn't freewheel anymore and when you stop it shudders because it never really goes into nuetral (short of taking it out of gear) and will constantly move when it's in gear and you don't push on the gas.
