I should check into that. It was one of the old buttons that wasn't worn out. If it wore differently then the new ones maybe it did that. It had this problem ever since my little incident with the tree and I was just hoping it would go away with the button change. I thought it did at first but then it came back soon and just got worse and worse.

No lube, I didn't really know you could/should do that until you mentioned it a couple posts ago since it doesn't mention that in the manual. Cleaning did take place at the same time as I redid the clutch wear buttons, belt, and whatever else needed to be done then.

when i took mine apart i noticed it wasn't sliding open like it should so i gunked it down with that power blast stuff or blrak cleaner they both the same. and let it dry well first i blew it out but then after it was dry i srpayed that remington gun oil it has that teflon in it . that stuff is pretty good stuff to use i quirt it down my choke cable while i push and pull it and i lube that up pretty good too.all my springs and bolts and nuts on the carb and engine get a coat of it.not to mention when i was it i spray the whole engine down with son-of-a-gun tire cleaner amd that is oily it'self but it keeps the hoses flexable and not dry.i spray it all over my hood and fenders too it helps to clean the mud off plus it helps with the plastic.not to mention it makes it shine.lol i mean don't you use arnorall on you plastic and vinyl dash boards?so why not your plastic hpx fenders and hood.the stuff works like pam mud slids right off.lol

Armor all is like crack for plastics and it is to shiny. lol. I use 303 protectant and griots garage rubber and vinyl protectant on my car but my gator gets water/car wash solution and that's it.

ha!!i took out two trees with mine.lol but the trees also took out my fenders . but i have to blame some of the damage on the bottoming out so i guess it was a 50/50 deal.lol the beast thing to do after riding is to wash it down good and then lube it up . there ain't nuthin that will absorb oil or greaes faster than dried mud or dust. i still ain't got my fenders or lights.i guess i'm waitin to finish them off. so did you blow out the clutch and lube it up?and if you need a cover i still have mine off my hpx. you pay shipping and it's yours for free. thats what bud's are for right? just check the part numbers to see if they match and i think they will and if they do and you want it let me know.

I haven't messed with it yet. I had to mow today and it hasn't had a chance to cool. If it does get cooled off enough I might take it off and blow it out but if not I will probably get that cleaner stuff and oil then on tues do it.
