HST efficiency (no, not horsepower)

We just passed 188,000 on our 1996 Isuzu Rodeo - 5 spd with original clutch. My wife drove it from 1996-2007, and I've been driving it since. We've been very fortunate (I think), because both of our commutes to work are about 12 miles each, with several stops in between. Obviously, it's not real high-mileage, but I can't even imagine how many times that clutch has been engaged/disengaged.


Glad I didn't get the HST model of that one!

I have driven HST, Kubota GST, Shuttle, and plain gear. I really like my HST(had a Kubota, now a NH), as does my wife and son. Sometimes I do find it annoying to have to keep the HST's revved up.

I did fine using the gear and shuttle shift.

Again, I like the HST for typical chores around my 5 acres, and my parents 8 acres. But, I have had need to rent Kubota L35 TLB's in the past; I really liked the GST on those tractors.
