HST Filter Change

Tractor is done and working well. Manual says only the filters needed to be changed at 50 hours so I assumed a gallon of hydraulic fluid would be more than enough to cover spillage. Once the transmission filter was removed, I estimate 8 of the 11 gallons came out. It was a joke/nightmare.

But 8 qts of Rotella T6 and filter, new trans filter and HST filter, and about 8 gallons of new hydraulic fluid. Good learning experience. Lugs are tightened down as well.

I'm ready for aeration and overseeding season and if/when we get any snow or ice this winter.

If it was me I would look at the filter she sold you
and look for it under your tractor I am sure you
have both. My tractor has both. I seen the instructions
for my tractor said when you change tranny fluid change
these 2 filters so I was looking on the tranny for the two
filters but only one on the tranny the other one was about
3 feet towards the front of the tractor

This is a guy doing a 50 hour service on a TYM
he removed all 4 wheels?????? I didn't have to
remove any wheels to do the 50 hour service.

My Kioti also requires both filters, but it was absolutely difficult to get those factory installed filters off at 50hrs. They were painted on, and needed two to three times the normal effort to remove. Subsequent filter changes have been easy and time efficient.

Opening credit says "Tony's Tractor Adventure" and he said he was "loosely following the manual" and was doing things that the manual didn't call for at 50 hours.

Wouldn't be much of an adventure if you followed the manual, now would it?

The filters probably were not lubed before installing.
It is best if you oil the O ring before installing and only
install hand tight I had to drive a screw driver threw the
filter and use a pry bar to get one loose and the other one
used a screw driver and hammer.
