The HST is a must. Sometimes my wife will help me when some of the work requires me to get off the tractor frequently. She will dry while I chain or what ever. I used my old man's Massey Ferguson 135 and she couldn't help me with it because she couldn't back it up and keep the clutch pushed in and keep the brakes held on the other side of the tractor. She would stand up but didn't have enough weight to keep it held. With the HST she can back it up and just take her foot off until I get it hooked up. I do like the safety feature of if she is on it and gets a little freaked out she can just take her foot off and it stops. I couldn't imagine using a gear drive doing loader work. I have always had plenty of power and ended up loosing traction before power.
