HST popping out of mid-range into neutral on downhill

There isn't some dirt or junk stuck in the linkage somewhere that's preventing the lever from fully engaging low gear?

I've had this happen a couple of times on my brand new tractor. I'm pretty sure the shift lever was not engaged 100%. What I found was that if it feels hard to shift into low, I need to go to a higher gear, move the tractor slightly and then shift back into low and the lever will goes all the way down. It never pops out when it slips into low easily.

Probably not the same issue but it sound similar in that is seems to be lever related.

If this was a problem with an automobile there would be mass recalls, headlines, and Congressional hearings.

The longer the nanny state stays away from my life the happier I'll be.

I've had it happen twice. Both times I was cutting next to the woods, so kept turning to check the position of the cutter relative to the trees. My bulky backside brushed the selection lever as I twisted, popping it into neutral.

I suspect the lever is easier to move when going downhill, and I wouldn't have moved it on level ground, but both times for me were operator induced.

Sometimes I have to alternate slightly pushing the forward and backward pedals while changing ranges to make it go fully into that gear.

Likewise here.

It has happen to me. I ended up moving the wrenches I had stored by the lever and my problem went away. I'm assuming I wasn't getting it fully into gear, just enough for it to work for a few minutes and then out she came. A little bit of a pucker factor.

Moved the wrenches stored there and no problem since.

that reminds me on my old b7800 putting the shifter in low gear would bunch up the end of the seat belt. I really had to conciously flip the end of the seat belt back over the lever once in L range. I guess if it had been around my waist it wouldn't have been a problem.
