HST Whine - normal?

Whine is fine, rattle (like someone through a pile of screws in the tranny) bad bad bad...

Has anybody ever notices a high pitched metallic noise when in high range going fast down the road? I'm guessing it's the type of gears they use in tractors (non angle cut) that is making this noise. It does to me what grating nails on a blackboard does. It's not loud and I hear it best with my head turned...seems to be coming from the back of the tractor.

Can of screws in tranny sound? Could you elaborate? Is it normal? Does yours do it? Should I worry?
I was searching the forum on this exact noise.

Yes, I have on my L3410 HST. It is just at the right pitch to make me wear hearing protection as it sets my ears to ringing. I would LOVE a solution. Anybody got one?

If that is the sound of your tranny, go directly to your dealer. Do NOT pass go, do NOT collect $200. Seriously, that is not a good sound to hear from a transmission. Maybe it's something simple, but best not to take chances. If you have metal floating around in there, it will cause damage to other parts, and could get expensive in a hurry.
