So got my drums off the Jubilee, yippee. But noticed the hubs are loose. One side has about 1 degree of play - I can live with that. The other side has curved shims and about 5 degrees of play. I'm not a farmer nor do I tend land this is a restoration project just for the fun and learning. Do I ignore and move on or do I replace axle?

You answered your own question: ".......this is a restoration project just for the fun and learning." Get to learning what it takes to replace the axle and report back so those of us the blow such a tolerance off and go on, will know what we missed. Grin

There are some things I let go, others I don't. Hubs are worth the effort. Good learning opportunity! Good luck!

So I will be replacing the axle and likely the hub. Now my problem is, replace with used original equipment? Used might be no better than I already have. Do I buy after market on line? Can't seem to find reputable vendor. Everyone seems to sell same overseas stuff for widely different prices? No consensus on which vendor to use. Anyone have preference here? Likely will live with what I can. Replace with original used if able. And buy on line the rest knowing it will likely be sub-standard.
