Anyone have experience with Huber equipment? I'm about to look at an M-500 and was hoping to hear any common problems or things to watch out for.

biggest thing is pins and bushings in the blade raise the blade and see how loose it is a little is alright but a lot of movement will have to tightend up

Nice looking machine! I would love to have that! I ran one of those over 30 years ago. Check the brackets that the moldboard slides thru for wear, especially the bottom of the brackets that the round tube slides thru and also the tube its self for flat spots on the very bottom. Nothing worse than having the blade fall off when back blading. Also check the rear end for noise, if I remember right, that has drop finals and there is a gear in there that fails. At least we had one go out. But our Huber had a loader bucket on it so it got a lot more abuse.

Looked at it this morning. Pictures make her look a bit better than she is as far as the finish goes. Owner had a sandblasting business so he had it blasted and painted which makes it look pretty good from 10'. Body panels are all there it appears and in decent shape. Not a show piece but for a 1970's road grader, not too bad. Everything but the brakes work, needs a new master cylinder, and she fired right up with no choke in 30 degree weather. She had been sitting in the same spot at least 2 weeks and I saw no major hydraulic leaks to speak of other than a small drip spot under the left raise / lower cylinder. All together I was pretty happy, so I think I got a pretty good deal at $4k. He also offered to deliver her since all I had was an 18' car hauler to pick her up with and the fit would have been kinda tight I think. I'll try to get better photos up soon after I take delivery.

That's awesome Tom. Can't wait to see follow up pics. I started to say when Spring comes you can work it. But then noticed you are in Florida. You can probably put it to work immediately!!! :)

Small world I guess. We've been discussing the need to hire a grader for the road and then I drive by the Huber and it just seemed like fate. I was already in the process of selling a truck we had and it all just fell in place.
