How the moon "looks" to the naked eye, as it rises, is an illusion anyhow. The size, while nice, wasn't its primary feature to us. The closeness of its orbit was barely noticeable but its light show WAS spectacular.

Yes, I mentioned the moon rise was nothing special, but when I looked at it around midnight it was such a bright clear white, like I have not noticed before. So bright you almost had to squint to look directly at it.

Here in East Texas, I found the Super Moon to be AMAZING!!!!!!

It was very red, and VERY BRIGHT!!!!!! I failed to plan any good shots, so I just took a bunch of pics from a variety of angles and settings.

As it rose, it became lighter in color. Within an hour, it was almost white.

Eddie, you "failed to get any good pictures?" Heh!! Those are great!!

My wife had her little Fuji and it was a total bust on the photography. I was soooo disappointed, as I had some design ideas I want to do with them. Bummed.

Your photos are really, really nice. It was an incredible night to be outdoors. Tonight will be almost as great, but we now have packed in cloud cover and rain in the forecast.

We watched it and had a bonfire. It was crystal clear here, cool and crisp. It was a good night. Didn't hear any coyote's though, surprisingly.
