Only one hummer on my feeder so far. Too early I suspect for the masses. I guess he's possibly a scout.

Mine are very active but we have year around hummingbirds out here. I do not know if there are any travelers here yet.

I bought the first ten pound bag of sugar yesterday. I'm now prepared for the first few.

Do you keep yours up year round?

Haven't seen one yet, but I heard that unmistakable near supersonic zing/whoosh past me yesterday. Need to get the goop out soon. Lots of stuff in bloom for them in the mean time.

Usually they show up on the 1st for us, but this year they where about a week early. We saw our first one on March 23rd or 24th. My wife put up a feeder right away, and now we have 3 feeders up and they are all getting hit.

No. I haven't been able to figure out how to easily keep them from freezing.

I bring mine in at night. Since our daytime temps are almost always over freezing it works for me.
