Hurricane Laura - Texas

   / Hurricane Laura - Texas #41
There are thousands of people down here from all around the country helping out in so many ways. And there are thousands more people from all around the world helping by sending supplies, food, money and prayers. And we need all of it. Not me, but thousands of people who lost everything.

Not one of the people helping out down here, has asked the color of someones skin, or who they will vote for, before they help those in need. This is the real America and Louisiana that I see and live in every day. It is not what I see on the news everyday.

I am so very proud to live in Louisiana, and America, because I see people helping each other every day, no matter who they are.

It is very sad to see the devastation caused by Hurricane Laura, but it is also very satisfying to see so many people helping those in need right now.

So true.

We got the town of Vinton on today, at least everyone who could be turned on, the townspeople were so happy that they lined the streets when we pulled out this afternoon and cheered and waved and hollered thank you to every last one of us as we passed by, very good and thankful people, it's truly a humbling experience when someone offers you some of what little they have after they have lost everything, I always feel fortunate to be able to help to get the light's back on. Charlie.

And then along came Sal ....

Sally, currently a TS is forecast to come into the same area by the end of the week. Passing off Florida now into an active Gulf. For the moment, it's heading for Biloxi/Gulfport, but the rain shield extends to western LA.

TROPICAL STORM SALLY

Another one possibly forming in the Gulf could affect that track. Three more active in the Atlantic, and yet another forming off Africa. Six total for now.

We came home, our company wasn't willing to sign an agreement with CLECO, they said they would have to get someone from legal to go over it as it was a 20 page document, we would have stayed longer but all those agreements are done by the suits.

Too many people looking for a way to sue utility companies and utility construction companies these days spoils things for a lot of people.

I think what you do is great work. We have a grandson who is in his second year as a lineman and we are really proud of him. He works in Co. now and is chomping at the bit to get enough experience to get on a traveling call out crew. I also have a bro. in law who was a lineman for the R.E.A. years ago, he's 88 now but still talks about what a great job it was, even though he once lost it on a frozen pole in a blizzard and his spikes let go and he slid down the pole running a large splinter up through a leg coming out his groin. OUCH!
