Hurricane Warning Issued for NE Coast

About this time last summer we had a season full of warnings, watches, blah blah about the weather. Then in one day we had a super red cell thunderstorm mover through with little warning and did extensive flood damage. I lost a lot of hay in that storm.
Im convinced weather forecasters are ok for 1-3 days of predictions, but years into the future? That’s a joke.

We see that in winter; "Heavy snow tomorrow, up to 6 inches". That in itself is an oxymoron, yet often we only get a few inches. Then about once a year we'll get blistered with a storm which nobody sees coming.

I lost a lot of hay in that storm.

i'm still convinced that the forecasts are linked to ratings, WEATHER knowingly or sub consciously.

We’ve had conditions that have resulted in tornado watches, warnings and a few tornadoes this past week or more.
The curious thing about all this is the TV weather shows radar images loaded with reds and oranges while at the same time my go-to weather app radar shows greens, yellows and limited orange areas. Clearly the radar signal the TV fear mongers use has a BS knob turned way up.

Crap! That's just great! I just finished regrading my private road after heavy rain from tropical storm Fred washed it out. Now, we're expecting 2 to 4 inches of rain overnight from Henri here in northeast PA. Looks like I'll be doing it all over again.

Isn't the NE coast rocky? I would think colder water and a few cliffs would reduce a hurricane to wind and rain. One of the standing jokes here on the West Coast is, "If your grandmother can drive 60 mph through a 60 mph southwester without blinking, you know you are from the Oregon Coast." It goes with designing your kids' Halloween costumes to fit over rain gear.

I can see a hurricane being a problem in the SE, where rain just sits there because it's so flat, and you have to go miles inland to escape the storm surge.

Sure, there are rocks on the coastline but there are lots of sandy beaches along the LI, Ct. RI and Mass coastline. Rocks get more plentiful north of Boston and are most of the coast along Me and the Ca Maritime. Cape Cod and is mostly sandy beaches and Chatham usually sees damage from rain and winds.
