Tree demolition prices for taking down damaged or disease stricken trees in our part of Northern Illinois have skyrocketed after COVID. After I received three immense quotes for taking down a diseased old cherry I went online and discussed with friends the price of a large chainsaw that could handle thick trunks. Ended up purchasing this Huskie 585 with a 28” bar.
All I can say is that I wished I had bought it years ago. The time it saves has been phenomenal . I’ve used it on three trees all 70’ or more and the 585 has already paid for itself when compared to all the tree services here in the area.

Yes prices to remove trees have sky rocketed and even worse is getting someone to honor their bid in a timely fashion. Glad you could do you own mine is way to big at 5ft dia only 30 ft from house for me to drop. Also three fences and five other trees in the way.

Best video of felling trees I have ever watched. I watched this one and literally took notes. Everything they teach works like a champ. Took a diseased oak down and had to make it fall between other younger trees. Followed their instructions to the letter and it falls exactly as advertised.

Got a Stihl 064 at a closeout sale, 1991. $600. thought it would be too large, no way glad I snatched it up now. Absolute beast for big wood with a 36" bar. Good for you get the Husky 585. A great saw at a good price.

You are right. Those old 0XX series Stihls will still be rebuilt 100 years from now 38” bar! You must be related to Paul Bunyan!
