Husqvarna deck leaves uncut strip.

As for blade length, my 52" mower uses 3 blades that are 18.25" long (54.750 total width) but they wont hit each other due to the center blade being set forward from the other two so each blade is overlapping the other by about .500" on each end. The only thing that could keep them from cutting a swath if you have the correct size blades is something that is flattening the grass in front of the mower. This could be a tire or an anti-scalping wheel bent or out of alignment or a broken baffle under the deck. Perhaps one of them is bent a bit and laying the grass down in front of the blades.

I have a similar lawn mower a husqarnar cth 171 with twin blades and a 36 inch deck. Does the same thing and leaves a thin line of uncut grass between the blades. The deck is properly lined and levelled with sharp blades etc and I do remember it did it from new. So annoying it cannot be fix easily.

One solution I heard of is to move the blade arbours closer together and this is a lot of work as it means drilling out the mounting holes and moving them closer together. The next solution maybe to turn the deck more so the leading blade is further forward

Maybe the answer is poor deck design by husquarner

What color is the mowing deck, orange, black or grey?

I was going to ask if the underside of the deck had been cleaned lately, but if you have painted it, I assume it is clean. I know my deck will leave strips if it is not clean, I think the grass that has accumulated under the deck pushes the grass down and the blades do not cut it properly. Interesting problem, hope you figure it out.

I think this is a good point, as (IMO) I believe air flow (w/ a clean deck underside) is required to lift the grass. Not being lifted may be caused by:
1. The grass itself (wet, or heavy, or just doesn't "rebound" due to its nature),
2. Front of deck "digging" in?
3. Build up of grass on underside of deck that effects air flow.
4 Also, most deck have holes in them that allows air passage and can get plugged.

That's my :2cents:

The deck I have on the machine is black. All the air passages are clean and the blades are sharp. The deck is level as per manuf instructions but still this line of uncut grass remains when cutting normal grass... Terrible deck design from husq. I would not buy from them again

I don't think that's possible because all belts will slip and never on all three spindles the same amount.

Yep - unless it is built like some machines ( MTD 843 hydro) which do use counter rotating over lapping blades. this is made possible by utilizing a double sided cogged timing belt to drive the spindles.

Only drawback is the belt is pricey... and have not seen a 3 spindle version to cover cutting widths larger than 44 inches.
It does seem a lot simpler to just offset narrower 3 spindle drives. no timing required.

Not making assumprions but that is the box store version of the intermidiate deck, then comes grey and finally the orange(which only comes from husvarna dealerships).Orange is the best....that being said-I just replaced my blades with a third party because they looked heavier and stronger than the origional. At first I got the lines like you did but I played around with the adjustments and got it so the only time I get the lines is when the deck gets clogged.

I have the grey deck.
