Husqvarna vs. John Deere

Hi guys, new here. Looking to buy a ZTR. My lawn is about 2 acres and I am trying to decide what to buy. I can get a Husqvarna Z248 F with a Kawasaki engine locally. There is a John Deere dealer about 40 miles away but I have not been there to see what they have in stock. Wondering if there is a comparable JD model and how would it compare? Would it even be worth my time to go check them out?

John Deere is better but way higher for most things. A ZTR in this size are more or less the same. The transmission and deck are the parts to compare. It does happen, but the engine is not usually the first to go.

If I had to do it all over I would have bought the Kubota diesel ZTR.

I like my Toro 60" commercial ZTR but the extra power from the diesel would come in handy.

I went with the 35 HP Kawasaki gas in my zero turn, so I wouldn't be hurting for power.
The 35 has real good power with a 72" deck. Fuel efficiency could be better.

These machines are more than double the price of the mower he is looking at. Not sure we are helping him.

How many acres you mowing 2 or is it 2 minus your house? I currently mow right around 2 with a husqvarana X254, cost me 2500 bucks. Had it for three years and no issues, mowes two acres in a little over an hour. For what I am mowing I wouldnt spend anymore than I did for a machine. Some of these machines are great, but for such small acrerage you willl never see the cost benefit.
