I'll be darned. Never even thought that could happen. The cylinders I had where really wimpy things and never thought of them as dangerous. A pain yes. Dangerous no.

Well, generally you would be staying far away if your car is on fire! and hence, you would be safe.. For the firefighter approaching a fully involved automobile the hazards are NUMEROUS... part of the fun..

We got an "alert" on hybrids a year or so ago. Not only do you need to be careful of shock hazard but the vehicle can also moved unexpectedly via the electic motor.
