I'm at my wits end. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif My 3 pt. lift arms lift normally but lower way too slow. Changed oil, cleaned screen on return line. Checked shut off valve. Still the same. Have noticed that if I close the shut off valve then open it while lowering lift it seems to lower a little bit (very, very small difference) faster. My guess is I have a small piece of dirt in a valve, just don't know which one or where to start disassembling? Any suggestions?
Thanks Jim

Is this problem while you have a heavy implement on it or while empty?

I think both, but I'll check today to be sure. I have noticed the lift goes down faster when the tractor is cold, slower after it warms up.

Thanks Jim

What are you referring to as the shutoff valve? There is a knob down by your feet that you turn to prevent the lift from dropping when servicing or transporting. There is also a small lever under the seat that adjusts the drop rate of the lift. Mine on a 2000B has a red plastic cover on the handle.

Sorry for the late reply been very busy.
I'm referring to the knob just under the seat the turns off the hydraulics to the lift for transport, remote, etc. I havent found or don't have the lever at the foot level. The lift is slow with or without implements. Never has seemed to float like I thought it should, other tractors I'm familiar with you can raise the lift arms by hand when in the lowest position by the lever, this one doesn't. Thinking about removing the shutoff (control) valve under the seat to see if there is any debris in the valve. Anyone have another suggestion? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Thanks Jim

Jim,

I think Norm is talking about a VERY small adjustment valve directly under the seat. The only reason I know where mine is is because someone painted it yellow. It's about a 1/8th inch by 1 inch rod.

The other valve (also yellow) looks like a water spigot.

I haven't touched mine yet for fear of the thing blowing up. Maybe I'll work up the courage this weekend.

Hope that helps,

Rick

I finally got the pic to load. It is of the shut off valve (?). I can't find the other valve under the seat, any pics? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I would prefer not to take this apart until I'm sure I need too. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Guys /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
